What “Scratch ‘N’ Sniff” has to do with the Most Advanced Tooth Whitener. There are many things we know about hydrogen peroxide. Among them are: 1. H2O2 is the most effective tooth bleaching agent.2. H2O2 highly unstable, and the higher the concentration, the less stable it is. In fact, highly concentrated H2O2 is so unstable that it immediately starts to break down upon activation, losing as much as a third of its strength in the time it take to get it on the teeth. This means that a 25% H2O2 concentration is effectively no more than about 17% by the time it’s applied, further weakening over time. This is one reason inconsistent results are achieved with some bleaches. Imagine how much better results could be if the full strength were maintained over the entire bleaching application. This is the dream behind GentleWhite’s new VHP Ultra High Performance bleach. The bleaching scientists at GentleWhite knew that if they could deliver to the teeth and maintain a high peroxide concentration level over time, the results would be exceptional. So they set about to find what science could be applied that would retard the degradation of the peroxide once activated and applied to the teeth. The antidote to too-fast peroxide breakdown. They found their answer in micro-encapsulation, the same technology behind “Scratch ‘n’ Sniff”, the device that delivers a aromas via a tiny paper patch coated with micro-encapsulated cells filled with a fragrance. By micro-encapsulating H2O2 in cells of varying wall thickness, peroxide decay rate can be controlled. This results in a consistent flow of bleaching power throughout the treatment. The result: Much whiter teeth, more consistent results and, of course, without gingival burning or tooth sensitivity. To learn more about how GentleWhite can bleach without discomfort, click here
